A unit is devoted at the start of the school year exclusively to the introduction and review of touch typing skills for grades 3 - 8. Thereafter, students have an opportunity to reinforce typing skills every other week as a pre-class exercise, when it is their color week to be the "keyboarder." Students record the results of their typing sessions into their notebook throughout the year to keep track of their touch typing progress. Below is a sample record sheet.
Immaculate Conception School in Astoria - Display of student keyboarding records.
Saint Mary Star of Sea School in the Bronx - Student "Certificate of Accomplishment" produced by the Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing program are displayed. The certificate contains student's name and their wpm/accuracy score.
